Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Projections Coordinator’s primary responsibility is the advanced planning and coordination of all projections, video, streaming, and other associated media equipment for The Clarice and its partners. This includes onsite supervision and instruction of work for all events as assigned. The position is also charged with instructing and training all individuals as needed for projections practices and equipment. The position is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance and repair of projection and media equipment, as well as other duties assigned by the supervisor. This position promotes a safe and productive workplace by ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. Some evening and weekend work is required.

Through research, innovation, and instruction in new technologies and techniques, the Projections Coordinator helps to build the future of the arts by educating, training and presenting the next generation of artists and creative innovators.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of professional experience in multi-media projections.

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of theatrical lighting, video projectors, and projections software.

Other:
This position requires incumbents to possess and maintain a Class C Driver’s License, or equivalent, valid in the State of Maryland with fewer than six (6) points.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • A bachelor’s degree in technical theatre from a performing arts program at an accredited college with a concentration in video, media, and/or projections work.
  • Experience supervising and training students in a University setting
  • Management experience in positioning light plots, focusing lighting instruments, networking and programming lighting consoles. Knowledge of current practices and procedures in a professional performing arts environment.
  • An understanding of VectorWorks, PowerPoint, QLab, Isadora, Photoshop and other projection software/hardware on both Mac OS X and PC systems.
  • Experience programming advanced media servers such as Watchout, Hippo, or Disguise.
  • Experience editing graphics and video content used in theatrical productions.

Additional Information:

Salary range: $55,000 to $64,500, commensurate with experience

  • Must be able to work from ladders and scaffolding; to work from catwalk heights of 60’.
  • Must be able to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to manipulate equipment, tools, supplies and/or exert force up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in hazardous environments, confined spaces, and to wear and work in personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
