This position is a full-time 40 hour per week confidential position, Monday through Friday. Starting annual salary for this position is, $85,488 to $108,992.

 

General Summary: Reporting to the Vice-President of Academic Affairs, performs professional, administrative, and/or institutional support for instructional services relating to all aspects of the functioning of the Academic Affairs Office at NHTI—Concord’s Community College. Provides assistance in teaching and learning for faculty, staff, and student development, as well as curriculum assessment and strategic planning through current institutional research methodology and technology.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Vice President of Academic Affairs in the day-to-day operation of the academic unit of the college, including, but not limited to, handling student issues, preparing of class and final exam schedules, assisting in the performance evaluations of academic department heads, and strategic planning for the academic unit and the college as a whole.
  • Manages all aspects of the academic affairs operation in the absence of the Vice-President of Academic Affairs.
  • Assists with the development and assessment of curriculums, academic programs, and student support services. Remains current with best practices.
  • Assists academic department heads with specialized (departmental) and all-college accreditation self-study activities.
  • Analyzes measures of institutional effectiveness and assists with data supported strategic planning at all levels as required for ongoing data-guided campus decision making.
  • Develops and participates in community outreach and business/industry liaison activities.
  • Facilitates the process of academic program review on campus.
  • Assists in the creation and presentation of professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
  • Participates in academic planning, policy development, budget management, and institutional effectiveness and manages special projects, as assigned.
  • Remains current with national and regional trends, developments, and issues related to academics and governmental oversight in higher education.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational and technology workshops and participating in professional societies; participates in internal and external meetings and seminars.
  • Performs administrative duties associated with, maintaining a safe work environment, training employees, and communicating job expectations.
  • Monitors job performance and manages employee time and attendance in accordance with CCSNH and College policies and procedures, the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, and state and federal regulations.
  • Serves on college and/or CCSNH committees, as assigned.
  • Complies with all NHTI, Community College System of NH, State, and federal rules and regulations;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education: Master’s degree from a recognized college or university in education, higher education administration, human services, allied health, business administration, liberal arts, social science, technology, math, science, engineering, or related field.

 

Experience: Six years of experience in teaching, academic/education administration, institutional research, and/or curriculum design including four years of supervisory or program/project management duties, preferably within higher education.

 

License/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License or access to statewide transportation.

 

Additional Desired QualificationsTeaching or academic program administration experience in higher education. Knowledge and experience with instructional technologies. Experience working or leading at a community college. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, Effective organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge and experience in institutional research and ability to analyze and interpret data. Familiarity with current issues and trends in higher education, including community colleges. Experience in developing and managing budgets. Ability to foster collaborative and effective working relationships with diverse populations and multiple constituents. Ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to evaluate and analyze program effectiveness and resource utilization. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in the performance of duties. Project management skills including the ability to define projects, prioritize and manage multiple projects, measure and evaluate progress and outcomes, and meet timelines while producing quality work. Proficient in the use of technology, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other graphic presentation software. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, recommend and implement solutions in a timely fashion.
