Postdoctoral Research Associate - Neurosurgery

Job Description

Position Summary

Tumor and Immunometabolism and Functional Epigenetics

Postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Alexander Stegh at The Brain Tumor Center, Washington University School of Medicine. Our laboratory aims to understand the metabolic adaption of Glioblastoma, in particular focused on the intersection between metabolic and epigenetic regulation. Candidates with broad backgrounds in tumor biology, immunology (immuno-)metabolism, molecular biology and genetics are all welcome to apply.

Our laboratory uses metabolomics, flux studies, single cell and other omic approaches to discover key metabolic pathways that contribute to Glioblastoma progression and develop innovative pharmacological strategies to therapeutically target those pathways (Cell Reports 2017, Science Adv 2019a, 2019b). Ongoing projects in our lab include:

  • Identifying modes of epigenetic regulation in response to wild-type isocitrate dehydrogenase expression in tumors and tumor-associated immune cells.
  • Unveiling new fundamental roles of regulated cell death programs, such as ferroptosis, in Glioblastoma progression and therapy susceptibility.
  • T and myeloid cell metabolism.
