Position Summary:
LifeMoves | Safe and Supportive Parking in San Jose serves single adults, couples, and adults with adult dependent children in an innovative short-term housing program for people living in their vehicles. The Residential Services Coordinators act as basic needs support liaisons for clients, with the ultimate goal of providing safety to the program participants at the safe and supportive parking location. Successful RSC’s will demonstrate a strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and diplomatic limit setting. Their responsibilities include access control to the safe and supportive parking location, providing basic need services (access to food, water, and restrooms) as well as assisting the Program Director to maintain the facilities safety and develop the program’s basic services.
Position Description:

  • Conducts a LifeMoves vehicle from shelter site to safe and supportive parking location
  • Records parking lot attendance of program participants each evening
  • Confirms only individuals registered with the parking program are on the parking lot
  • Enforces all program guidelines and regulations with the program participants
  • Provides access to food, water, and restrooms
  • Maintains site safety and enforce site access control
  • Refers case appropriate information to the case manager
  • Participates actively as a team member in supporting clients and the facility (parking location) as needed
  • Stay current and knowledgeable about external community resources
  • Logs and reports client interactions every evening
  • Exchange shift with on-site security team and reports any issues to security
  • Maintains a high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual-relationships, and professional stature
  • Attend staff trainings; meet regularly with supervisor to exchange pertinent information and receive supervision
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Shift: 5:30pm-12:30am

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A BA/BS in Social Services, Education a plus.
  • Personal or professional experience/education working with mental health clients a plus.
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, ideas and practices that promote diversity, equity and inclusion
  • A clean driving record.
