Chief Executive Officer - Administrator-CEO
Job Description
The Mississippi County Hospital System (MCHS) seeks an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or the right candidate with upper level hospital administration experience who has a vison for the future. The CEO will report directly to the Board of Governors.
Mississippi County Hospital System, located in the Mississippi River Delta region of Northeast Arkansas, is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and a county owned facility. MCHS is comprised of two hospitals, two Rural Health Clinics, and a Woman’s Health Clinic (with OB). The Great River Medical Center in Blytheville, is a PPS hospital licensed for 99 beds. South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center in Osceola is a Critical Access Hospital with 25 beds. MCHS currently has 350 employees who are committed to keeping quality healthcare close to home.
MCHS is operated by an independent 7-member Board of Directors. The board is a strong, seasoned Board of Directors and have a strong commitment to healthcare in Mississippi County, the employees and the patients.
Responsibilities
- The CEO is accountable for operational oversight of hospital system
- Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with the short-term and long-term objectives
- Lead and motivate staff to advance employee engagement developing a high performing managerial team
- Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the hospital system’s legality and business ethics
- Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements
- Build trust relationships with key associates, staff, and consumers
- Promotes quality outcomes through effective planning and efficient utilization of healthcare resources
- Analyze problematic situations and provide solutions to ensure hospital system survival and growth
- Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and the healthcare industry
Requirements:
Requirements and Skills
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business, or comparable experience.
- Three years or more of proven experience as a CEO or in other upper level healthcare leadership position
- Experience in developing profit strategies and implementing vision
- Strong understanding of healthcare finance and performance management principles
- In-depth knowledge of general management best practices
- Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and public relation skills
