A Postdoctoral Researcher position is available in the Department of Chemistry at LSU as part of a National Science Foundation supported program to investigate the synthesis and characterization of sequence-defined hydrophobically modified polypeptoids and study their interactions with lipid membranes towards membrane protein extraction.
Participating in the experimental design, materials synthesis and characterization, and characterization of solution structures of protein-embedded liposome and HMPs.
Training of graduate students in polymer synthesis and characterization, data analysis, presenting of results at conferences and meetings, and publication.
Required Min Qualifications: PhD in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field with experience in monomer design and polymer synthesis and characterization.
Special Requirements: Must be willing to travel.
Desired qualifications: Some experience in the characterization of solution structures of polymers by X-ray scattering and electron microscopic methods.

Additional Position Information: The position is expected to be open immediately for an initial one-year appointment with the option to be further renewed.
