Position Summary
Plans and directs the daily operation, coordination, and administration of the human resources department. Works with campus leadership to implement and develop payroll budgets and policies. With executive direction, works under limited supervision with broad latitude for independent judgment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Payroll Compensation: Responsible for the timely, accurate, and compliant processing and reconciliation of payroll for all benefited, non-benefited, contract, and student employees. Compensation analysis and development utilizing formal assessment matrix.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with institutional policies, Federal and State laws, and regulatory controls. Collect, analyze, and report data to internal and external agencies and stakeholders. Ensure deadlines are met and accurate information is reported.
- Systems Management: Utilizing ERP systems, inputs, manages, and maintains all employee data; ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Policy Planning & Development: Oversee the business processes for the department, ensuring appropriate tools, guides, and resources are available and up-to-date. Develop and maintain HR policies and a Master Planning Calendar for all administrative services functions.
- Benefits Administration: Responsible for managing, directing, and planning of group benefits programs.
- Supervision: Supervise and evaluate the activities of HR staff.
- Performance Management & Employee Relations: Ensures the delivery of effective performance management, coaching and feedback systems by active involvement with faculty and staff. Management of talent recruitment and development activities.
- Strategic Planning: Develop the organizational human resource strategic plan in consultation with senior leadership.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires frequent sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.
SCHEDULE DETAILS:
Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional after hours during peak periods.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. Three years’ relevant experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. Five years’ relevant experience, including management responsibilities. Working knowledge of Banner Payroll and/or Workday (ERP) systems and reporting tools.
