Job Summary This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Spring 2018 and Fall 2018 academic terms. 

Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in College Success and Career Guidance (CG). There is potential for openings to be available at any of PCC's four main campuses: Cascade Campus, Southeast Campus, Rock Creek Campus, and Sylvania Campus. Please indicate the campus(es) you are interested in being considered for on the question portion of the application.

- These positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees. Employment in these positions will require, as a condition of employment, payment of monthly union dues or a monthly fair share fee in lieu of dues through automatic payroll deduction. 

- Full term pay rate may vary by course. Actual term pay is based on the course catalog contact hours multiplied by the appropriate hourly rate. 


 
Responsibilities/Duties Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities 

Duties will include all or some of the following: 

- Instruct students, using approved course outcome guides developed by college-wide subject area Faculty. 

- Assess and grade student achievement of learning outcomes. 

- Use student feedback to improve teaching. 

- Be available for a reasonable amount of student contact to respond to questions and to resolve problems related to the course through time spent before or after class or through telephone or e-mail exchanges or office hours where facilities and schedules permit. 

- Attend one staff meeting per term as directed by the College and when notified by the Division Dean. 

- Provide additional hours of course-related student conferences or tutoring over and above classroom instruction when courses are designated as requiring such. 


 
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 
To be considered for this position, your application materials must show how you meet the following requirements: 

General Qualifications 
For Courses - CG 100, 101, 102, 103, 105, 111A, 
111B,111C,112, 130, 144, 145, 146, 147 225, 
0690 and 0693:
 

- Masters in Counseling, Psychology (Counseling, Clinical, School, Applied, or Educational), Social Work, Applied Behavioral Science or Education (unless otherwise specified for individual courses). 

Additional Specific Course Requirements 

For course CG 114: 
- General qualifications above AND 
- One college-level credit- based course in Personal Finance 
OR 
- Masters degree in Business or Finance 

For course CG 130H 
- General Qualifications above 
OR 
- Masters degree in an Allied/Professional Health field 

For courses - CG 140A, 140B, 140C 
- General qualifications above AND 
- One graduate-level credit- based course in Tests & Measurements or Assessment AND 
- One graduate-level credit-based course in Career Theory AND 
- One graduate-level credit-based course in Lifespan or Human or Adult Development 

For courses - CG 180, 190, 191 
- General Qualifications above 
OR 
- Masters degree in Sociology AND 
- One graduate-level credit-based course in Social Justice or Diversity or Multiculturalism or Multicultural Counseling 
OR 
- Masters degree in Social Justice 

For courses - CG 209, 280A, 280B: 
- General Qualifications above 
OR 
- Masters degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or Communications AND 
- 2 years experience as a career counselor, employment specialist, employment case-worker, HR professional, training manager, or similar experience. 


Note Regarding Academic Credentials: 

- Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
