Job Summary This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Spring 2018 and Fall 2018 academic terms. 

Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Counseling.There is potential for openings to be available at any of PCC's four main campuses: Cascade Campus, Southeast Campus, Rock Creek Campus, and Sylvania Campus. Please indicate the campus(es) you are interested in being considered for on the question portion of the application.

- These positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees. Employment in these positions will require, as a condition of employment, payment of monthly union dues or a monthly fair share fee in lieu of dues through automatic payroll deduction. 

- Full term pay rate may vary by course. Actual term pay is based on the course catalog contact hours multiplied by the appropriate hourly rate. 

Responsibilities/Duties Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities 

Duties will include all or some of the following: 
- Be responsible for counseling and guiding any assigned or requesting students and special program students in meeting their respective educational, personal, social and vocational goals, using judgment consistent with standards of the appropriate professional association, licensing board, and state and federal guidelines, and based upon adequate knowledge of counseling practices, methods, techniques, interpersonal relationships and community resources. 

- Administer and/or interpret appropriate standardized tests made available by the counseling department. 

- Provide consultative support services to College staff. 

- Provide group counseling sessions, seminars, workshops and career or personal development classes. The individual Counselor's preference shall be given serious consideration in making assignments. 

- Attend and participate in college-wide, campus/center division, department and program meetings and activities. 

- Provide services to students in a manner which does not discriminate as to race, creed, religion, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, sexual preference or marital status. 

- Remain current in their respective fields. 

- Comply with published College Policies and Procedures. Management will notify employees of those policies and procedures applicable to their work 

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 
To be considered for this position, your application materials must show how you meet the following requirements: 

- Master's degree in Counseling, Guidance, Counseling Psychology, Psychology, Educational Psychology, Social Work, or related area required. 

- Two years of experience providing academic, personal and career development counseling. Internship experience may be counted. 

Note Regarding Academic Credentials: 

- Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
