Summary
The Music Center Evening Continuity Assistant supports all evening activities in the Albert P. Smith Music Center. This will include monitoring the use of practice rooms, midi lab, and recording studio as well as staffing the box office for concerts and recitals.

 

Essential Job Functions
• Maintain the integrity of the practice rooms, midi lab, and recording studio.
• Assist authorized recording technology studio lab monitors and midi labmonitors.
• Assist the ensemble directors with such duties as music library sorting and folderstuffing.
• Assist with music department social media postings and online ticketing.
• Serve as the spokesperson for the music department after hours by answering the telephone and assisting students and community members that may have questions about the music department
• Serve as the primary greeter for all evening concerts and recitals in the Albert P. Smith Music Center. Direct traffic flow from the main foyer to the 2nd floor recital hall.
• Persons in this role are identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSA’s will be trained and responsible for reporting Clery Reportable Crimes to Campus Police as required by the Clery Act.

 

Marginal (Non-Essential) Job Functions
• Support the overall integrity of the Music Center by monitoring activity in the facility.

 

Job Specifications
Education
• Associate degree or equivalent experience required

 

Work Experience:
• Minimum of one (1) year in sales, marketing, recruitment, or admissions experience required.

 

Mental Demands:
• Organizational and problem solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (oral and written) are required to be successful in this position
• Must have experience and be comfortable with public speaking

 

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift and move 20 pounds ofmusic
• Must have reliable transportation

 

Working Conditions:
• Primarily office environment.
• Grand Rapids Community College is required to comply with the OSHA emergency temporary standard (ETS).

Employees will either have to be vaccinated or comply with weekly testing requirements.
