Job Summary


The Dean of Enrollment Management serves as the chief enrollment management officer for the college, providing strategic and operational leadership, as well as oversight, to all enrollment management functions for credit and non-credit instruction, including recruitment, registration, admissions, student records/registrar, financial aid, veteran services, international student services, adult re-entry, and assessment testing.  The Dean provides leadership in meeting the College's enrollment goals by collaborating with leaders in student services, academic services, administrative/financial services, and institutional research and advancement to create, implement, and evaluate best practices in managing enrollment through student success and retention initiatives.

The Dean of Enrollment Management works on a schedule established by the Vice President for Student Services.  The position involves frequent handling of confidential information and records.  Work contacts include students, administrators, faculty, staff, community-based organizations, and governmental agencies.


This position is a Full-Time, 12-Month, Administrative appointment with an annual salary of $85,056.25

Essential Job Functions


  • Develops and maintains a strategic enrollment management plan with a commitment to student success, increasing enrollment through recruitment and retention, and supporting diversity; chairs the college's Strategic Enrollment Management Team; prepares and distributes progress reports on enrollment goals.

  • Provides leadership in the development of innovative policies, procedures, programs, systems, goals, objectives, and priorities in support of areas supervised; coordinates admissions and records, financial aid, assessment center, and other areas supervised to ensure complete, seamless services to students.

  • Oversees budget preparation process for areas supervised.

  • Responsible for the integration of enrollment management with academic services and student success/retention initiatives, engaging both faculty and staff in those efforts.

  • Participates actively in partnership programs between the college, District 505 high schools, business and industry, and community-based organizations and social service agencies.

  • Develops, implements, and monitors outcomes assessment of enrollment management strategies in collaboration with the Institutional Accountability and Research department; works closely with Campus Technologies department to improve the enrollment data mining, reporting and visual display associated with this outcomes assessment.

  • Provides leadership in the identification and recommendation of new and emerging technologies to improve and automate enrollment and financial aid functions, and to increase accessibility of records to students and relevant employees.

  • Collaborates with Marketing & Public Relations to develop marketing strategies and programs that target specific markets, increase enrollment, and build brand awareness for the functional areas under Enrollment Management.

  • Ensures all areas supervised comply with FERPA, Title IX, Title IV, Clery Act, ADA, and other federal and state regulations.

  • Serves as an internal resource to the college on matters related to enrollment management.

  • Serves as a member of various college committees and task forces.

  • Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in enrollment management, including financial aid, as well as pending state and federal legislation.

  • Develops a climate that promotes and supports innovation and improved services to students and the community.

  • Develops ways to meet enrollment goals and improve services to prospective and current students.

  • Ensures aggressive recruitment and retention of both traditional and non-traditional students.

  • Ensures accurate, efficient, and smooth applicant processing and services.

  • Performs personnel management functions, including oversight of personnel selection, training, and evaluation; ensuring departmental practices are in compliance with college policy; and analyzing and recommending appropriate staffing levels.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Services.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Personnel, Student Development, or related field.

  • Five (5) years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, records, registration, financial aid, retention, enrollment management, or other student services operations.

  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible leadership in higher education, including staff supervision and budget management.

  • Familiarity with higher education legal issues pertaining to academic records and financial aid.

  • Familiarity with state apportionment, state reporting requirements, and national clearinghouse reporting.

  • Ability to develop measurable outcomes and assessment strategies to formulate data-driven decisions.

  • Technical knowledge of shared databases, student information systems, and records security.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with diverse students, employees, and community members.

  • Demonstrated success implementing initiatives to increase student success.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working with college marketing initiatives.

  • Experience working with ERP software similar to Ellucian Colleague.

  • Experience with CRM software.

  • Active participation in state and national organizations of admissions officers, registrars, financial aid administrators, and/or other enrollment managers.

  • Experience working in a comprehensive community college.
