Job Description


Under grant funding from the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities,  this person will work with the PI and faculty to conduct clinical trial activities, which include assisting with the development of research study materials, interactions with collaborators, and  field data collection, maintaining and improving the study's quality assurance procedures, providing human subjects protection, ensuring study protocol compliance, preparing manuscripts, presentation, and assisting in the preparation of additional grant applications and other activities related to research as needed. 

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in data collection and data analysis in order to gain expertise in an interventional study using a clustered randomized control trial (RCT) approach.
2. Attend a NIH grant writing workshop, participate in a clinical and translational research workshop and attend courses related to advanced statistics.
3. Present at the Gerontological Society of America Annual Conference in order to build research connections with other disciplines 
4. Write and submit three manuscripts for publication
5. Prepare and submit research proposal applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have been awarded a Ph.D. in nursing, aging, public health, psychology, kinesiology or related field by the time they begin the appointment, from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

Has a high research interest in aging research or implementation research or behavioral health topics with a particular focus on falls prevention, fear of falling, physical activity, cognitive impairment, and digital technology. 

Has strong methodological and statistical skills.

Has previous experience in grant writing, research publications and working in a team setting.
