Job Summary:

The Xtreme Astrophysics group at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in the fields of computational plasma physics and/or machine learning. The successful applicants will join a group led by Profs. Feryal Ozel and Dimitrios Psaltis, with research interests in high-performance computing simulations of plasmas and radiation from microphysical to macroscopic scales. The initial appointment will be for 2 years, with a possible extension for two additional years, depending on performance and funding.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, applied math, computer science or another relevant field by the date of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in either plasma simulations or in AI/ML approaches of extracting physical information from simulations.
