Hourly range for Registered Nurses $36.10-$55.99 / hour

  • Evening Shift Differential- $2.55 / hour
  • Night Shift Differential- $3.40 / hour

  • Night Shift Weekend Differential- $5.15 / hour

Responsibilities*

Provide nursing care under the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice as a Registered Nurse, in the Division of Medical Dermatology (Adult and Pediatric)

Provide telephone triage, patient education, direct patient care, documentation with follow-up and coordination with ancillary services and related departments. Perform patient care planning, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, plan of care, and evaluation of care.  Provide updates to patients and providers on patient care and document updates in the EHR. Under the delegation of Dermatology Physicians, implement clinical standards of care and aid in the development of nursing protocols.

Provide functional supervision to allied health staff.  

Dermatology clinical resource for all UMHS Dermatology Clinics

Expectations of the position:

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by interviews, evaluations and references.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, problem solve, delegate effectively and to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Demonstrated efficient computer skills, including fluency in MS Office programs, while working in an electronic medical record. 
  • Critical thinking skills, able to coordinate and perform multiple activities and problem solve
  • Proven leadership ability, to include; initiative and creativity, setting goals, promoting teamwork and accountability
  • Ability to practice independently and efficiently as a Registered Nurse

Nursing Specific Info

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications*

  • Active Michigan RN license
  • Minimum of three (3) years (within the past four (4) years) RN experience, providing direct care to adult and/or pediatric patients in an ambulatory care clinic setting or inpatient setting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years (withing the past three (3) years) RN experience, providing direct care to the adult and/or pediatric patient in an emergency room setting.
  • Demonstrated ability and past experience authoring nursing protocols and guidelines

Work Schedule

Hours: 40 hours per week 
Shift/Hours/Days: Day shift; 8hr or 10hr shifts, Monday- Friday, some Saturdays are required. Flexibility in scheduling is required.  
Location: Hybrid Model: Taubman Center and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, Adult and Pediatric Dermatology Clinics, and remote work from home.  Other locations within Michigan Medicine for Adult and Pediatric Dermatology Clinics may be included.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
