Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

Successful candidates will perform research in stem cell biology, hair cell regeneration, neural regeneration, synapse formation, and animal behavioral studies. The candidates will be in a substantially full-time program of advanced research and training. Post-doctoral scholars may expect the opportunity for collaborative and independent research and publication as determined by mutual agreement with the mentor.

Unique duties:


The applicants must at least have a Bachelor’s or Master's degree.

Background in neuroscience, inner ear biology/development, stem cell biology, molecular biology, or neurobiology is desirable. Self-motivated individuals seeking experience in the following area are encouraged to apply: (a) neuronal differentiation of stem cells for auditory neuron replacement in vitro and/or in vivo, and (b) hair cell differentiation via genetic and epigenetic modulations.
