Job Description

Job Summary
Working with the Eccles School of Business – Business Scholars team, alumni, the Eccles Dean’s Office, the University of Utah Office of Admissions and other stakeholders, this position is primarily concerned with recruitment, yield and enrollment of honors-level first-year college students into the Eccles School of Business – Business Scholars Program. This position will report directly to the Undergraduate Admissions Manager, with support from the Undergraduate Admissions Director.

 

Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Overview of Responsibilities:
  • Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description, and more specifically as outlined below:
  • Work with alumni, faculty and staff in domestic and international locations to develop, implement and maintain a Business Scholars program strategic recruitment and admissions plan.
  • Manage undergraduate business and business scholars social media and supervise student social media intern(s).
  • More specifically, oversee the cultivation of prospective students in an efficient and effective admissions process, including planning on and off campus recruitment and U of U Office of Admissions events, setting up on-campus visits, and working with other offices in the institution with respect to housing, financial aid, and enrollment of domestic and international students.
  • Represent the Eccles School of Business and specifically Business Scholars at U of U Office of Admissions events and during student on-campus visits and ‘Bringing the U to You’ events.
  • Cultivate relationships with key alumni, high school guidance counselors, DECA and FBLA advisors, high school business teachers, U of U Office of Admissions, and the U of U Scholarship Office.
  • Prepare, organize and conduct presentations at state, regional, national and international recruiting events and business competitions.
  • Construct and analyze plans that measure the effectiveness of a Business Scholars program strategic recruitment and admissions plan – including competence utilizing online survey and database programs.
  • Carry out special projects and other duties as assigned by the Business Scholars Director.
  • Be knowledgeable of information systems and technologies, including social media and CRM systems.
  • Present advanced skills in Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint or Prezi.
  • Must be proficient in utilizing Qualtrics (or equivalent program) as an analytical, survey and database tool.
  • Candidates will also be expected to travel up to 30% of time spent on the job, which travel schedule will be dependent upon recruiting season and alumni needs. Travel will be required on nights and weekends.

 

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years’ related experience, or equivalency.

 

Preferences
Because the duties of this position include recruitment and enrollment into Undergraduate Programs within the David Eccles School of Business, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred
