This Informatics internship is integrating knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and developing your skills in a professional setting. This will give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience in Analytics support for healthcare facilities.

Internship description/opportunities:

The Clinical Informatics Intern will assist with a variety of projects and requests related to acute-care hospital, ambulatory milieus. Our staff works with clinicians and providers on a variety of projects to help them better utilize their electronic health records systems. We also conduct the evaluation of a wide variety of projects implemented throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

• Prefer candidates at the junior, senior, or graduate student level pursuing a degree in Health IT or Nursing Informatics with strong communication and data analysis skills.
• Exhibits exceptional verbal, written and interactive communication skills
• Demonstrates effective research tactics, good organizational skills
• Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality
• Ability to convey a positive and professional image to internal and external customers
• Commits to continuous learning; being self‐motivated and self‐ directed
• Ability to work independently with sense of urgency to task completion
• Mastery of Microsoft products i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word

 

Timeline:

• June 6-August 5, full-time, paid internship

 

Additional information: this role will be in-person, full time at the Addison (International Plaza) location.
