Summary

The Neamati Lab in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy is seeking a research technician to provide routine to moderately complex technical lab support for various research projects.

Responsibilities*

• To perform pharmacological assays to test various anti-cancer drugs in vitro.
• To help testing various compounds in mice
• To isolate tissue samples from mice for microscopy and Western blotting
• To participate in everyday lab duties, including preparing buffers, drug dilutions, organizing data, cleaning, writing reports, presenting results, etc.

Required Qualifications*

• One year previous lab work is preferred
• Familiarity/working experience with basic biology experiemnts including Western blots, PCR, microscopy, and handling mice.
• Basic biology, cancer biology, and cell biology

Desired Qualifications*

• B.S or M.S. in biology or related field
• A recent graduate with 1-2 years experience working in a biology lab performing in vitro and in vivo assays.
