Systems Biology Postdoctoral fellow position at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
The Icahn Genomics Institute at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has a postdoctoral fellow position open for Systems Biology research. The position will focus on complex human diseases (such as neurodegenerative diseases and cancers) and will have very unique opportunities to conduct academic research in one of the most dynamic working environment in the nation.
The candidate will work in a multi-discipline team and contribute significantly to our efforts to systematically study complex biological systems through integration of genetic, genomic, epigenetic, transcriptomic data, and etc. The goal of the research is to identify causal mechanisms and represent them in probabilistic causal models. The candidate is expected to develop novel computational methods or apply existing approaches to the internal and publically available cancer related data, mine, summarize, and validate results.
Candidates with PhD in biological sciences, computational biology and bioinformatics with experience on working with large scale data are encouraged to apply. Previous cancer research experiences and solid computer programming (C/C++, Java, perl/python, Matlab, R), statistical, and machine learning skills are desirable. Good verbal and written communication skill is required.
