JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Family Relationships and Intervention Laboratory at The Pennsylvania State University, headed by Dr. Mark Feinberg, is seeking to fill a Researcher position with a preferred start date of January 1, 2023. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on NIH-funded studies investigating the long-term impacts of family-focused prevention programs, including a focus on co-parenting, parenting quality, family violence, obesity, and children’s outcomes.  There are opportunities for international collaborations and grant writing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Statistical analysis and paper writing

  • Managing datasets

  • Publishing first-author scientific articles

  • Developing new project ideas and grant proposals

  • Serving as program coordinator for projects as needed

  • Supervising students, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars

  • Aiding in human subject protocols, consent forms, and annual IRB approval

  • General lab management duties

Typically requires a Ph.D. degree plus one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, communication skills, writing, and statistical skills.

This is a 36-week, limited-term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with a strong possibility of continuation for a second year. However, the successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to develop a line of funded research which, along with ongoing funded projects in the lab, will allow the individual to be a member of the PRC for many years.
