Program Manager - Alumni Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program (Grant Funded)

Job Description

We are currently seeking an Alumni Program Manager Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

 

Work collaboratively to manage and execute the alumni component of the program at Houston Community College. The mission of the program is to create a community of active alumni through meaningful engagement and increased opportunities for revenue growth and job creation that will encourage alumni to become self-sustained. The Alumni Manager reports to the Executive Director at Houston Community College.

Collaborate with the broader program team at Houston Community College to plan, organize and coordinate local alumni activities as guided by the national strategic alumni plan to:

 

  • Serve as the main liaison to program graduates from Houston Community College in order to

 

  • Identify and respond to alumni needs and fulfill the mission of the overall alumni program
  • Attend select mods to meet and network with scholars (future alumni)
  • Partner with Business Advisors at Houston Community College to organize alumni recruitment efforts
  • Manage the local communication system with alumni in partnership with the national alumni

 

SUMMARY

Administer/supervise designated program (s); may also supervise program participants and assessing/advising participants.  Provide program marketing and recruitment strategies creating/revising program curricula; monitor business/industry trends; partnerships with business, industry, community agencies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Assist managing program(s) as needed;
  2. Develop, prepare and execute marketing plans and strategies to promote courses, increase enrollment and improve the program;
  3. Coordinate program activities which may include: monitoring activities and resources, events, negotiating facility usage and testing;
  4. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other HCC offices and departments and external partner entities;
  5. Collaborate with staff and others as necessary;
  6. Develop, implement and monitor new program initiatives based on community and business needs and input;
  7. Compile, review and report statistical program data as required;
  8. Monitor goals, objectives and outcomes of assigned program and report results;
  9. May supervise, manage, assess, and evaluate staff and resolve issues as appropriate;
  10. Identify, recommend and oversee completion of appropriate professional development opportunities for staff as required;
  11. Assist to identify grant opportunities and special funding proposals and participate in grant proposals for assigned program(s); and
  12. Actively participate in program and management team initiatives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.  The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.

 

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of three (3) years related work experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Familiar with and sensitive to culturally diverse student populations;
  2. Proficient in MS Office applications;
  3. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  5. Able to prepare, facilitate and make professional presentations/trainings;
  6. Able to form effective partnerships and alliances to achieve common goals;
  7. Able to interact effectively with a diverse student population, multiple communities and public agencies;
  8. Able to manage complex processes;
  9. Able to assess training needs;
  10. Familiar with on-line technologies; and
  11. Able to be flexible and creative in managing projects and identifying solutions to complex problems.
