Vice President of Instruction and Student Affairs

 

North Idaho College (NIC) invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President of Instruction and Student Affairs. The Vice President of Instruction and Student Affairs reports directly to the President and serves on the President’s Cabinet. This person will work closely with the deans who directly report to the position and are deeply respected and valued by faculty and staff. The deans have been a vital source of stability at the institution.

North Idaho College is a comprehensive community college established in 1933 on the shores
of Lake Coeur d’Alene at the headwaters of the Spokane River. NIC’s vibrant college community includes 4,600 students enrolled in credit courses and more than 4,500 students taking non-credit courses. NIC is uniquely situated on a beautiful waterfront campus, has proud and committed alumni and friends, and is in one of the most desirable places to live in the country.

Student success is at the heart of North Idaho College. The college — having entered an unprecedented era for community colleges across the U.S. and with new college leadership —is now in search of the next level of leadership and seeking a driver and advocate for both Instruction and Student Affairs. The ideal candidate will lead with a service-minded and forward-thinking spirit to help drive the positive momentum gained since the arrival of our new President, furthering the tradition of student-centeredness that is at the heart of NIC.

The next Vice President of Instruction and Student Affairs is a collaborative, innovative leader who can work with passionate and committed constituents, both within the college and throughout the community. The person selected has a dynamic opportunity to assist the college with the preparation of an impactful mid-cycle review and visit by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities in the spring of 2023.

Candidates for this position must have an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a field closely related to the position and should have eight years or more of full-time administrative experience at an institution of higher education or closely related area. Preferred attributes include: experience working at a Community college; experience working in student services; experience working in business and industry or career and technical education; experience in Higher education teaching.
