Base Salary $113,184 - $134,403 per annum (Academic Level B) + 17% superannuation

Sydney Law School is seeking to appoint two outstanding academics at the level of Lecturer (Level B) to contribute to teaching and research in the fields of Corporate Law; Tax; Legal Practice and/or Evidence Law. The successful applicants will play a significant role in contributing to the academic endeavours of Sydney Law School. Both positions will contribute to fostering a culture of excellence by encouraging the successful candidates to bring their own expertise in the above fields and through guiding academic staff and students towards success.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • delivery of outstanding teaching and learning outcomes
  • contributes to knowledge within discipline or area of expertise including undertaking original research (either independently or as part of a team)
  • contributes to the research, education and administrative activities of University of Sydney Law School
  • actively supports the strategic direction of the University
  • engages beyond the University through conferences, seminars and outreach activities.

About you

  • a completed PhD in a relevant field (or near completion)
  • demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives in the areas of Corporate Law; Tax; Legal Practice and/or Law Evidence
  • developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
  • experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities
  • developing research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research in the discipline or area of expertise
  • deep and broad experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settings
  • a developing knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the discipline and higher education sector.
