Position Summary
The Department of Medicine, Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the Indiana University School of Medicine has an immediate opening for quantitative pharmacology or pharmacometrics faculty to join our Disease and Therapeutics Response Modeling Program.
This position will support translational drug development and precision medicine efforts, including in vitro in vivo extrapolation, preclinical, and clinical studies, using multi-scale, quantitative pharmacology approaches. Projects will involve the use of nonlinear mixed effects and/or physiologically-based modeling techniques, and other biostatistical applications in preclinical and clinical drug development and precision dosing, to identify optimal dosing and PK/PD trial design. Experience with biotherapeutics is beneficial. 
Fueled by foundational teaching and innovative research, the Disease and Therapeutic Response Modeling Program equips young scientists with diverse experiences in the design, application, and interpretation of quantitative approaches that drive the evolution of medical therapies. The DTRMP provides pharmacometrics education to graduate students and fellows, including the NIH-funded T32 postdoctoral training program in Clinical Pharmacology. It is expected that the successful candidate will embrace student mentoring and education.
This faculty member will be expected to participate in applying for and maintaining external funding, and eventually, under the mentorship of key senior investigators, be expected to acquire and sustain independent funding.
The successful candidate must demonstrate expertise in modeling, simulation, and statistical methods through evidence of scientific meeting presentations, publications, regulatory report submissions, or other equivalent activities. Extensive software (e.g., NONMEM, Simcyp, Gastroplus, Phoenix, R) and programming proficiency are preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as a member of an interdisciplinary team are essential.

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate or Terminal Degree Required. Qualified candidates must have a demonstrated expertise in pharmacometrics/ quantitative pharmacology and a doctoral degree in Pharmacometrics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biostatistics, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, or a closely related discipline.
