Do you have a track record of academic achievement across teaching, research and/or professional practice in a relevant subject area? Do you have significant experience of strategic and operational leadership in education or industry? If so, we want to hear from you.

We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to take a leading role as the Head of School, Human Sciences in our Faculty of Education, Health, and Human Sciences.

Reporting to the Deputy Dean, you will be part of our faculty senior team and will provide strategic and operational leadership for the school, which covers a wide range of disciplines. Your strong academic leadership and vision for the school will help us achieve our ambition to be the best modern university in the UK by 2030.

The person we are looking for will act as an advocate for change and will have significant experience at senior manager level within an education or industry-based organisation of comparable size and complexity. We are looking for people who can help us deliver our mission of transforming lives through inspired teaching and research, through our values.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for and a clear commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, as well as the vision, values, and aspirations of the University of Greenwich. The university welcomes people from diverse and under-represented communities who can help the university to achieve its mission.

Why join us?

This is an exciting time to become part of our community of staff and students. Last year saw the launch of our University of Greenwich Strategy 2030, where we set out our vision of Education without Boundaries. This means supporting staff and students to achieve their ambitions because of, rather than despite, their backgrounds. We are committed to supporting our academic teams to deliver the highest levels of student success, enterprise, and employment outcomes for students from all walks of life. We have ambitions to develop our already successful school into a world-leading centre for innovation in teaching, research, knowledge exchange and student enterprise.

The school enjoys high levels of student engagement and a strong team of internationally recognised staff who work in partnership with professional bodies, industry, research, and academic networks.
