University of Nevada, Reno provost/executive vice president Marc Johnson was recommended Tuesday to serve as interim president of the university by Chancellor Dan Klaich.
"After meeting with several UNR constituent groups, it was clear that Dr. Johnson was the best individual to lead the university through this transition period, following the April 16 death of President Milt Glick," Klaich said in a statement. "Marc has extensive higher education experience, and his service as provost and executive vice president for the past two years has given him a strong background upon which to lead UNR. In his role as provost, Marc has led the university's strategic planning process, and he has contributed to UNR's continued progress."
