Renee Wachter of Truman State University in Missouri has been recommended to be the next chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Wachter, 44, emerged from among four finalists to win the recommendation of UW System President Kevin Reilly and a committee of the Board of Regents. The choice was announced on Friday, according to a news release from UWS.
The recommendation still has to be ratified by the full board April 8. Wachter would begin as chancellor about July 1, the release said.
Wachter joined Truman State in Kirksville, Mo., as dean of the School of Business in 2006. She previously served in administrative roles at the College of Business at Montana State University and the School of Business at the University of Indianapolis.
“Dr. Wachter is a very impressive educational leader — someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about UW-Superior, all of its strengths, and all of its potential,” Reilly said in the release. “She has a distinguished record of successful service and senior-level leadership, and I am confident she is well-prepared to lead UW-Superior to a bright future.”
