A national search will be conducted to replace John Eastman as dean of the Chapman University School of Law.
Eastman stepped down in January to run for California attorney general.
Scott Howe, Chapman’s Frank L. Williams Professor of Criminal Law, will serve as interim dean while the search is being carried out. Dean Howe served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 1999 to 2007 and has been a member of the Chapman law faculty since 1996.
A ten-member search committee to fill the permanent position of dean has been formed, with Menas Kafatos, Ph.D., dean of Chapman’s Schmid College of Science, as the chairman.
