Ronald Mason has been appointed vice president for human resources at Quinnipiac University. A member of the president's cabinet, Mason is the first to serve in this newly-created senior management position.
After an extensive national search, Mason emerged as the ideal individual to fill this critical leadership role, bringing significant human resources experience both within the private and not-for-profit sectors.
"I want to express my appreciation to the search committee for the excellent work in evaluating a large and impressive pool of candidates for this position and for completing the very difficult task of narrowing the pool down to the ideal candidate for Quinnipiac," said Quinnipiac President John L. Lahey.
Mason's distinguished career began in the university setting. Most recently, he served as chief administrative and human resources officer at Planned Parenthood Federation of America in New York.
In this capacity, he was charged with formulating and setting the strategic agenda and transforming the business model for the human resource and business support functions of Planned Parenthood, a notforprofit organization with 11,000 employees, generating $1 billion in annual revenues nationally and internationally. Mason was also responsible for the organization's information technology, facilities, business support services, purchasing and national office security functions.
