Lakeshia Hunter to lead Shaw U. center for alternative programs

Lakeshia Hunter, a Rocky Mount native, has been named director of the Shaw University CAPE in Rocky Mount. The Center for Alternative Programs in Education is an extension campus of Shaw University in Raleigh.
The Rocky Mount CAPE also serves the Greenville area, through the Greenville extension campus.
Hunter received an MBA degree from Strayer University and a BS in business administration from Elizabeth City State University. She was previously employed on the Raleigh campus of Shaw as a financial aid loan manager. In her current role as director, she is responsible for recruiting and screening adult learners as well as admissions programming, registration and financial aid. Her recruitment efforts have increased enrollment by 60 students since her placement here
