The new chancellor at the University of Alaska Anchorage will be Tom Case, who previously was dean of the university's College of Business and Public Policy.
Case will succeed Fran Ulmer as chancellor of the university's Anchorage campus, said Pat Gamble, president of the University of Alaska system. Ulmer announced last year that she will retire later this year.
Case is a retired general who currently is president and chief operating office for the Alaska Aerospace Corp., a state agency based in Anchorage. He was a UAA dean from 2002 to 2006, the university said.
