It's back to the drawing board for the New Mexico State University search committee charged with selecting a new senior vice president for administration and finance, the Las Cruces Sun-News reports.
The initial search has concluded without selecting a candidate. A new search will be initiated during the next fiscal year.
Jay Jordan, director of the Physical Science Laboratory, chaired the search committee and noted the importance of bringing on board the ideal candidate.
"The search committee did an excellent job and was fully committed to conducting a comprehensive and professional search and interview process, and I am thankful for their tireless efforts," Jordan said. "While we had the opportunity to speak with many well-qualified and attractive candidates, in the end it was felt that an expanded search is warranted to find just the right person for this challenging role."
In the meantime, Angela Throneberry will continue to serve as interim senior vice president. She assumed this role from Jennifer Taylor, who retired from the position last November, after 27 years of service at NMSU.
