Malik Rahman named chief information officer at U. of the Pacific

University of the Pacific announced the appointment of a new chief information officer Monday. Malik Rahman, the current CIO and associate vice president for Information Technology Services at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, N.C., will assume responsibility for Pacific’s Office of Information Technology on Feb. 1.
As Pacific’s CIO, he will provide technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the university-wide information technology programs. The CIO will lead the university in strategic planning for technology and expansion of the university’s information systems. The CIO also has overall responsibility for computing in support of research and for incorporating technology into education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
