Western New Mexico University forms presidential search committee

The Board of Regents at Western New Mexico University established a search committee at its Nov. 29 meeting to review candidates to replace retiring WNMU President John Counts.
The 14-member committee is comprised of WNMU administration, faculty, staff, students and alumni. Also on the committee are members of the community and WNMU Foundation.
Tony Trujillo, chairman of the Board of Regents, will chair the search committee. Regent Charles R. "Randy" Briggs also will serve on the committee. Other committee members invited to participate include: Patricia Manzanares-Gonzales, School of Education dean; Magdaleno Manzanarez, social sciences professor; Virginia Huegel, computer science professor and Faculty Staff president; Matt Lara, recruiter and Staff Senate president; Sherri Bays, vice president of business affairs; Marcia Shields, student government president; Brian Thometz, student government member; Linda McGee, WNMU Foundation member; Rosina Romero, alumnus, ABQ alumni chapter; James Marshall, Silver City mayor; Stephen Janos, of Truth or Consequences; and Patricia Maguire, Gallup Graduate Center.
