Three finalists named for VP of administration job at Texas A&M
November 15, 2010
A search committee at Texas A&M has named three finalists for the vacant vice president of administration spot, and one of the finalists is a familiar name in Aggieland.
Rodney McClendon is currently an administrator at the University of North Texas, but before that, he served as the number two to current A&M president Bowen Loftin when Loftin headed up the A&M-Galveston campus. McClendon was also the only chief of staff to serve under former A&M president Robert Gates.
McClendon joins Richard Metz, a chief administrative and financial officer at City College of New York along with other schools, and Nancy Suttenfield, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Wake Forest University, as finalists.
The three will be on campus this week for meetings, including open forums at Rudder Tower, Room 510 where the A&M community can attend and meet the candidates.
