Following a five-month national search, Eastern Michigan University has named former university fundraiser Tom Stevick as vice president for advancement and executive director of the Eastern Michigan University Foundation, effective Dec. 20.
He succeeds Linda McGill, who had served as interim vice president of advancement for the past several months, following professor and former interim president and provost Don Loppnow. McGill will return to her position as special assistant to the president.
Darryl Sczepanski, the last permanent person in that role, left EMU in April, 2008, to become director of development for The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions at Central Michigan University.
Stevick comes to EMU from Ohio Northern University where he served as vice president for university advancement for the past four years, but he is no stranger to EMU.
