Harry McSween named interim dean at U. of Tennessee

A beloved University of Tennessee professor best known for his Mars research and partnerships with NASA has been tapped to temporarily take over the College of Arts and Sciences.
Harry "Hap" McSween, a faculty member at UT for 32 years, will take the reins on Jan. 1 as interim dean of the school's largest college.
McSween is a distinguished professor of science and a chancellor's professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. He has previously served as a department head, Faculty Senate president and chairman of the search committee that aided the appointment of UT Knoxville Chancellor Jimmy Cheek.
