Coastal Carolina University names Robert Salvino research economist

Robert F. Salvino has been named to the position of research economist with the BB&T Center for Economic and Community Development at Coastal Carolina University, according to a news release issued Thursday.
Salvino, who has been an assistant professor of economics since 2007 in the Wall College of Business, will research economic impact and development and the costs versus benefits for public and private projects. He will develop and maintain a database of regional economic indicators and will publish economic forecasts.
Salvino has taught macroeconomics, microeconomics and entrepreneurship. His academic research interests include public choice, law and economics and the economics of entrepreneurship. His applied research and consulting focus on state and local economic development and business development analysis.
