The search for a new Antioch College president that started with 600 candidates officially ended Sunday, when Pittsburgh Public Schools Superintendent Mark Roosevelt was unanimously tapped for the job.
The announcement wasn't exactly a surprise. He was the only candidate interviewed for the job.
The pro tem board of trustees at the school in Yellow Springs, Ohio, said the appointment is effective Jan. 1.
Working in the Pittsburgh schools administrative offices yesterday, Mr. Roosevelt said he will work in his current job through Dec. 31 before moving to western Ohio.
"I am honored to become the next president of Antioch College and inspired by its history and the many people who made the college such a remarkable place to learn and work," Mr. Roosevelt said
