Donna Clark Schubert, a 20-year member of Troy University's journalism faculty, has been named associate vice chancellor for marketing and communication, according to Dr. John Schmidt, Senior Vice Chancellor for Advancement and External Relations.
In this role, Schubert will oversee the University's marketing and media relations operations, as well as the Department of Broadcast and Digital Network, which includes the campus television station and TROY's National Public Radio stations. Schubert, who will assume her new role Oct. 1, replaces Sandi Gouge, who retired June 30.
"Professor Schubert brings a wealth of expertise, energy and enthusiasm to this position," Dr. Schmidt said. "She will do an outstanding job of promoting and marketing Troy University."
Schubert, who joined the Troy University journalism faculty in 1990, said she is ready for her new role. In addition to serving as an associate professor, Schubert has also edited the university's Undergraduate Catalog and faculty handbook and served as coordinator for academic advising. Schubert also served as executive editor of the university's Southern Association of Colleges and Schools reaffirmation of accreditation effort.
