September 24, 2010
Royce Engstrom is moving across the hall to the president's office.
At a meeting in Butte on Thursday, the Montana Board of Regents voted unanimously to confirm Engstrom as the University of Montana's 17th president, replacing George Dennison, who occupied the position for the last 20 years.
Engstrom will assume the presidency on Oct. 15.
"I'm elated," Engstrom said. "It's quite a feeling to be selected for this position. It's a culmination of a career of seeing higher education from many different perspectives, so I hope I bring all those perspectives to the role of president."
