The Rocky Vista University (RVU) Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Robert R. Roehrich, Ph.D. as President and Chief Executive Officer of the University. Dr. Roehrich had served as the University's Interim President since late May.
While announcing Dr. Roehrich's appointment, Thomas Mino, D.O., the Board's Chairperson, said that the decision to appoint Dr. Roehrich had been made after an exhaustive hiring process which included a nationwide search and extensive review and interviewing of candidates by the University's Presidential Search Committee. This Board- appointed committee was composed of a diverse group of RVU employees, University Trustees and students who analyzed applicant credentials, interviewed the most qualified candidates and ultimately gave the RVU Board of Trustees a list of recommended candidates for consideration. The Board interviewed finalists and made its decision during a recent meeting.
Dr. Roehrich originally joined RVU in early 2010 as Executive Director of Assessment and Planning where he had been responsible for the University's strategic planning, institutional performance assessment and operational quality improvement programs. He continued with these responsibilities while also serving as Interim President.
His background includes more than twenty years of educational leadership experience with key executive management roles in both public and private higher education institutions. In addition, Dr. Roehrich has extensive experience as a team leader and examiner with the Higher Learning Commission, a regional educational accrediting agency
