Victoria Fraser interim head of Washington U. medical department

Dr. Victoria Fraser has been named interim head of the Department of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine while the school conducts a search to fill the post.
She replaces Dr. Kenneth Polonsky, who has been named dean of the Division of Biological Sciences at the Pritzker School of Medicine and executive vice president for medical affairs at the University of Chicago.
Fraser is the J. William Campbell Professor of Medicine and co-director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Washington University’s School of Medicine. She is co-principal investigator of the university’s Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences and principal investigator of the research, education, training and clinical development arm.
Fraser also is medical director of patient safety at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
