Lorie Johnson-Osho to lead multicultural recruiting at Grove City

Grove City College welcomes new Director of Multicultural Recruiting and Retention and Assistant Professor of Education Dr. Lorie Johnson-Osho. In her new role, she will be responsible for coordinating the College’s multicultural recruiting initiative specifically in western Pennsylvania with a broader but limited national focus.
Johnson-Osho has spent more than 15 years in higher education administration where she developed strong working relationships with faculty, staff, local communities and organizations to establish educational partnerships and foster stronger communication.
Most recently, Johnson-Osho worked at the University of Pittsburgh as assistant dean in the School of Arts and Science where she managed recruitment and retention activities designed to improve the quality and diversity of the institution.
Prior to joining the University of Pittsburgh, Johnson-Osho gained experience at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Ill., Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pa., YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Johnson-Osho earned bachelor of arts and master of education degrees from Duquesne University and her doctorate of education from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Ill., writing on the self-perceptions of at-risk students of their academic achievement in college and an adviser’s role in those situations.
