Steven Jones named Administrative Affairs Vice President at Mississippi Delta CC
Steven Jones, a graduate student in The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) School of Education, was recently named Vice President for Administrative Affairs at Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) in Moorhead. In his new role at MDCC, Jones will oversee Facilities Management, Government Relations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Special Projects, and Sponsored Grants.
A native of Taylorsville, Mississippi, Jones is pursuing a doctorate in higher education leadership at USM. He holds an associate’s degree from Hinds Community College, bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mississippi College, and a graduate certificate in community college leadership from USM.
Prior to joining the MDCC administration, Jones served at Hinds Community College as associate director of Student Housing and Residence Life; director of Student Housing and Residence Life/Deputy Title IX Coordinator; and executive director of Title III and Sponsored Grants. Before pursuing a career in higher education, he worked with the Michael R. Brown Law Offices, PLLC, in Jackson, Mississippi as a senior paralegal and legal administrator, focusing on the areas of civil litigation and also assisting with matters involving employment law, worker’s compensation, and personal injury litigation.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to serve Mississippi Delta Community College in such an integral role,” Jones said. “I thank Dr. Tyrone Jackson (MDCC president) and the MDCC Board of Trustees for affording me the opportunity to serve. I’m very excited about the opportunity, and look forward to positive results in the Delta.
