Robert Beatty named Rowan U. business school dean
Rowan University has appointed Dr. Robert Beatty as the new dean of the Rohrer College of Business, effective July 1, 2012. Beatty comes to the university from his position of dean of the School of Global Commerce & Management at Whitworth University, in Spokane, Wash. “Robert Beatty has demonstrated outstanding leadership and innovative thinking at Whitworth and other institutions, and he exhibits the strengths we need to continue to build upon an already-strong program,” said Dr. Ali Houshmand, president of Rowan University. “He has the background to move the Rohrer College of Business forward, to ensure collaborations on and off campus and to cultivate stronger relations with the business community and with our region in general.”
The new dean has had broad leadership roles in academia, business and the military, with extensive experience in strategic planning, organizational development, fundraising, marketing, collaborations with the business community and student development.
