The State Board of Regents has announced the appointment of a 21-member search committee that will assist the Board of Regents in conducting a search to select a new president for Weber State University.
Regent Bob Marquardt will chair the search, joined by Regents Wilford Clyde, Nolan Karras and Teresa Theurer. Other committee members include WSU Trustees Alan Hall, Jim Beardall, Mary Hall and Andrew Gardiner, as well as other institutional and community members. “Each member of this committee has a significant connection to Weber State University and a sincere interest in selecting the school’s next leader,” said Regent Marquardt. “We appreciate the willingness of these appointed individuals to lend their expertise and come together to choose a quality individual.”
According to Board of Regents policy, the search committee will meet together regularly. They will also host public hearings where university faculty, staff, students and community members can provide input in establishing the selection criteria used in considering candidates. Additionally, the search committee is charged with reviewing applicant materials and recommending three to five candidates to the Board of Regents for consideration.
