Job Summary
The division of Student and Academic Life is currently seeking an Assistant Provost for Student and Academic Support to envision and implement a holistic approach to student support services. The selected leader will join the Academic and Student Affairs team and will be the primary point person to focus on student support services, including a highly-coordinated academic advising strategy, career advising, first-year transitions and experiences, and first-generation initiatives, among other units and initiatives. The leader will be responsible for creating a vision and strategies to lead to student success and services. This role will work closely with the Associate Provost for Academic and Student Affairs, the dean of students, the assistant provosts, the provost, other associate provosts and the college deans to provide strategic direction and manage several units. This position will report to the Associate Provost for Academic and Student Affairs. The assistant provost will be a key participant in developing Student and Academic Life unit strategies.
Primary responsibilities: collaborate with key leadership and colleagues to plan, forecast, and implement initiatives and plans attendant to student support services; develop and manage university-wide co-curricular and extra-curricular student support services and initiatives; administer and act as a liaison of university rules, procedures, and policies; supervision and budget management of several critical units; and work with a set of colleagues to integrate student services across multiple fronts.
