Position Summary:

The Executive Director, Marketing and Enrollment Management, reports to the Vice President of Student Success Services. The position is responsible for developing strategies for student recruiting and retention, enrollment management, and marketing. The executive director collaborates with all divisions of the college to assure that strategic direction, branding, design, development, and publications best support the college. The executive director has the primary responsibility for developing and implementing a comprehensive branding, recruiting, and marketing strategy within the framework of the college’s overall college relations, communications programs, high school and community relationships. On a daily basis, the executive director has the responsibility for developing and managing internal and external communications and student recruiting and retention efforts through various media, enhancing public awareness and trust of the College. This position is instrumental in the development, promotion, and marketing of all college initiatives. The executive director develops, articulates, and executes all recruiting strategies with the approval of the Vice President of Student Success.

Staff Required Education/Experience:

Master’s degree and 4 years of marketing/communications, new student recruitment and enrollment management experience. Knowledge of enrollment processes and trends.

Desired Education/Experience/Skills:

Preferred experience in a case management model from onboarding to completion. Experience in managing a medium to large team with diverse roles and responsibilities. Knowledge and understanding of using a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system. Experience with marketing and communications management in a community college or higher education.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to include day and evening hours. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with a diverse audience across multiple platforms. Demonstrated expertise in managing marketing strategies, including social media and digital marketing. Knowledge of print production, direct mail, video, and photography. Expertise in strategies for new student recruitment and retention and dual enrollment programs. Ability to provide leadership to empower team members to develop relationships with local partners such as high schools and community members. Highly developed collaboration, relationship, and consultative skills. Ability to function in a leadership capacity and as part of a management team. Liaison effectively with president and other senior leadership team members. Committed to the “open door” philosophy and mission of the community college.

Duty and Responsibility:

1. Manage the development and design of marketing materials in coordination with the College to include targeted news releases, annual reports, internal and external publications, flyers and brochures. Coordinate with outside vendors for audio and video direction.

Follow enrollment trends, types of students, high school graduation and immersion levels, and other potential sources of students and develop strategies and recruiting targets for growing enrollment. Obtain information from Academic Programs and Continuing Education to inform the work and partner with Institutional Effectiveness to mine and interpret data for decision-making.

3. Develop and administer an annual marketing plan and budget for the College consistent with deliberate application of the College’s brand, utilizing social media, written and oral communications, the College website and other publications in accordance with college and community needs.

4. Coordinate and administer enrollment processes to include the dual enrollment program. Collaborate with the Marketing and Enrollment Manager and Director of Career and College Promise Programs to develop new strategies for dual enrollment recruitment and retention.

5. Develop and coordinate internal communications in accordance with the College’s needs to include the President’s Message, Campus Connect, emergency messaging, public service announcements, weekly e-mail and web announcements.

6. Develop local, state and national media opportunities, preparing and delivering requested information in advance through coordination and coaching of respective personnel to ensure consistent and concise messaging. Coordinates delivery with the college Public Information Officer.

7. Work to identify strategic opportunities to promote and advance the College, including an annual calendar of events that includes recruiting efforts, board meetings, student activities, graduation, semester start-ups, community functions, sports venues and targeted advertising.

8. Manage staff, including assignment and prioritization of work, establishment of personal and professional goals, development of staff, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, and that employees follow policies and procedures.
