JOB DESCRIPTION:


Alabama State University, Academic Affairs, invites applications to fill the position of Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management. This is a high level administrative position that is responsible for providing leadership for the development, administration and management of all functions and matters relating to an effective, outcomes-driven enrollment management program.  The Assistant Provost for Enrollment Management will exercise sound independent judgment with approval from executive leadership on major projects and be accountable for efforts associated with the recruitment and retention of students based on areas of responsibility.  The Assistant Provost for Enrollment Management is responsible for facilitating and directing the planning, coordination and supervision of the student recruitment, orientation and retention efforts; establishing annual enrollment and retention goals and objectives, and administering a plan for enrollment management through consultation with the Provost, and University President; demonstrating the effectiveness of the outcomes of unit goals and objectives communicating and collaborating routinely with other unit administrators; reporting to executive leadership and other audiences as directed by the Provost and University President; promoting the enrollment management programs that involve the university community; executing the unit functions in accord with the university's Mission of Excellence 2025 strategic plan; managing the University's admissions, recruitment, orientation, and retention programs; maintaining relationships with key university student services offices including Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Residential Life, Records and Registration, Academic Advisement; developing within Academic Affairs, policies and procedures for disseminating information and news about the university for encouraging new student enrollment and student retention.  A particular interest will be development of a long-term strategic recruitment initiative toward supporting the university's planned growth in enrollment; developing, administering and managing the annual budget for the unit and performing other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all student recruitment

  • Facilitate and direct the planning direction, coordination and supervision of recruitment, orientation and retention efforts

  • Supervise areas in the Enrollment Management area

  • Establish through consultation with the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs and University President, annual enrollment goals and objectives and administers a plan for enrollment management

  • Communicate and collaborate routinely with other administrators in the conduct of business

  • Promote the enrollment management programs which involve the university community

  • Establish, generate, build and monitor the University's Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan

  • Develop and manage the University's Admissions, Recruitment, Orientation, Retention, Records and Registration and Advisement programs

  • Maintain relationships with Student Accounts, Residential Life, and other students services units to develop strategies for student transition and success

  • Prepare an annual report

  • Develop within Academic affairs, policies and procedures for disseminating information and news about the university that encourage new student enrollment and student retention

  • Develop, administer and manage the annual budget for the unit

  • Special projects and other duties as directed by the Provost/VP for Academic Affairs


 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and 5 years of enrollment or enrollment related management, student personnel services, or student relations management experience are required.
